kalau ayam dah habis, cakap je elok2 dgn customer, kita orang memang faham…

  1. Assault not a racial issue, says man in KFC attack

KUALA LUMPUR: The graphic designer who was assaulted by a fast food outlet worker is urging the public not to turn it into a racial issue, saying the real matter is about customer service.

Danny Ng also denied uttering racist comments that provoked the attack at a KFC outlet in Shah Alam on Monday.

“I regret the allegations of racial sentiment and urge Netizens to stop all this nonsense as they were not at the scene,” said Ng, 26.

Ng only lodged a report at the Petaling police station on Wednesday as he thought he had no proof of the assault.

“I found out on Facebook that somebody had posted a video clip and I lodged a report after that,” Ng said at a press conference at Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng’s service centre here.

Ng had visited i-City on Monday with his wife and sister to redeem vouchers worth RM132 which were bought online two weeks earlier.

The vouchers, which would have expired the next day, included a meal at KFC as well as admission to the ferris wheel, snow house and outdoor rides.

The three went to the restaurant at 10.15pm and saw long queues as many customers were redeeming their vouchers.

After waiting for about 45 minutes, Ng heard customers ahead of him complaining that there was not enough chicken.

“After the cashier told us they had ran out of chicken, some of us complained.

“One of the kitchen staff said, Sudah habis, apa lagi mau? (There is no more chicken. What else do you want?)’,” he said.

He said a worker then uttered derogatory remarks, following which he asked to see the manager to complain.

Ng claimed that the manager refused to attend to him.

At this time, Ng’s wife claimed that she saw several workers brandishing steel bars from inside the kitchen and quickly pulled her husband out of the restaurant.

However, Ng was dissatisfied and re-entered the restaurant to photograph and take down names of the workers.

“When I raised my phone to take pictures, a group of them rushed out from the kitchen. A few of the staff members tried to intervene but one of them ran towards me, grabbed my neck and punched me on the back of my head,” he said, adding that they would be meeting representatives from KFC to resolve the matter.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the company confirmed three employees had been suspended pending investigations.

  2. KFC assault victim told not to go to Pakatan for justice for the sake of 1Malaysia

A customer has lodged a police report against the staff of a Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet for assault after he threatened to lodge a formal complaint against them, denying speculation that he was drunk or had hurled racial slurs at them.

“This is no reason for physical attack. I did not hit back because violence is not the answer. Rumours that I was drunk when the incident occurred are also not true,” Ng Chee Fei, who had gone to the restaurant with his wife on February 6, told a press conference on Thursday.

Don’t turn it into something racial

Ng and his wife were made to wait at the KFC outlet for an hour before being rudely told “‘ayam sudah habis, apa you mahu lagi?”

His assault was video-taped and released on You Tube where it has gone viral. Ng was accused of provoking the incident with ‘racial’ comments, but he has denied it. The police who took down his complaint also told him not to approach the opposition in the ‘spirit of 1Malaysia’.

However, Ng has ignored this advice and approached DAP MP for Segambut Lim Lip Eng for justice. His lawyer, Eric Tan was also present at today’s press conference. Lip Eng called on netizens not fan racial sentiments over the video.

“I regret the allegations of racial sentiments circulated on the internet, and urge netizens to stop all these nonsense as they were not at the scene. The public should not make up the issue,” said Lip Eng.

    teel bar!

According to Ng’s lawyer, although the incident was “considered a minor offense and there was no legal issue”, it involved public perception towards the Umno-linked fast-food conglomerate. KFC should at least acknowledge and comfort the customers who were abused by its staff.

“The customers waited nearly an hour for their chicken but were told that the stock had finished,” said Ng’s lawyer Eric Tan. “Of course the customers started to complain, but the staff was very grouchy and rudely answered: ‘Ayam sudah habis, apa you mahu lagi? (The chicken has finished, what else you want?).”

Upset by the staff’s tone and discourtesy, Ng scolded him “but no bad language was used by the customers”, said his lawyer.

“Ng’s wife dragged him out when she saw some of the staff carrying a steel bar, but Ng was unhappy. He re-entered the outlet to take photos and jot down the names of the employees to make a formal complaint, that’s when the kitchen staff rushed out and punched him in the face. Ng was then escorted out by another KFC employee who told him to leave to ensure his safety,” said Tan.

    No sound from KFC

Tan also slammed the KFC outlet manager, who was present but “just stood in the kitchen, chatting with the rest of the staff”.

“In this incident, we cannot deny that KFC has a problem with their service. They should have rectified the problem and comforted the customers. This should not have happened especially from a big company like KFC. This is the focus of the issue. We do not want this to happen to us,” said Tan.

  3. KFC keeping customers updated

PETALING JAYA: KFC Malaysia has taken steps to keep its customers updated on the company’s investigation into the alleged assault of a patron.

The company has been posting regular updates on its Facebook page as it tries to calm the furore over the incident in its Shah Alam outlet on Monday.

“To all our Facebook friends, we hear you out and are aware of your thoughts and concern in this incident.

“We truly appreciate your thoughts in this matter from the bottom our hearts.

“With much regret, the incident that had taken place is still at the point of scrutiny. Updates will be posted soon. Appreciate your kind patience and understanding,” it said in its latest posting.

The incident has caused a heated discussion among Netizens.

The ugly event unfolded after customers, some of whom had been waiting for 45 minutes, were told that the outlet had ran out of chicken.

Customers had been waiting to redeem vouchers that included admission to the I-City ferris wheel, snow house and outdoor rides.

The alleged assault by a kitchen employee on a customer was recorded and posted as a 28-second video on YouTube. The clip has since gone viral.

Victim Danny Ng, who lodged a police report on Wednesday, criticised those who tried to turn the incident into a racial issue.

KFC Malaysia in a previous posting said it had launched an extensive internal investigation and appropriate action would be taken.

Several workers had been suspended and a police report was lodged, it added.

Meanwhile, a second video showing incidents prior to the alleged assault has gone viral YouTube.

In the 43-second clip posted on Thursday, an angry customer was heard shouting: “You must say sorry!”

A few moments later, a KFC staff member was seen marching out from the kitchen to the counter area but was immediately stopped by his colleagues.
