This is an outstanding version of “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables.

Here are the Lyrics-I Dreamed a Dream
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving.

Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used
And wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung
No wine untasted.

But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
As they turn your dream to shame.

And still
I dream he’ll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms
We cannot weather…

I had a dream my life would be
So different form this hell I’m living
so different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed
The dream I dreamed.

Judge comments

Piers: Without a doubt that was the biggest surprise I have had in three years on the show. When you stood there with that cheeky grin and said, "I wanna be like Elaine Page", everyone was laughing at you. No one is laughing now. That was stunning, an incredible performance. Amazing. I’m really in shock.

Amanda: I am so thrilled because I know that everybody was against you. I honestly think that we were all being very cynical and I think that’s the biggest wake up call ever. And I just want to say that it was a complete privilege listening to that.

Simon: Susan Boyle, you can head back to the village, with your head held high, it’s three yesses

  1. I agree with you that this video really an inspiration to me. I was shocked and impressed with her sincere vocal and confidence. She has true beauty and real talent in singing. It also teaches us do not judge a person by his/her appearance only.

  2. Boyle stays British number one
    —————————————-

LONDON (AFP) – Susan Boyle stayed at the top of the British album charts Sunday for the second straight week as the success of her record-breaking debut album continued.

“I Dreamed A Dream” by the 48-year-old Scottish spinster became the best-selling debut in British chart history, shifting 410,000 copies in its first week on release.

Total sales in Britain have now passed the 700,000 mark and it is already the third-biggest seller of the year.

“Susan Boyle’s debut was historic and we expect ‘The Susan Boyle Effect’ to be felt in the charts for a long time to come yet,” said Martin Talbot, managing director of the Official UK Charts Company.

The singing sensation’s record sold 701,000 copies in its first week in the United States — the best album debut there this year and the biggest selling debut work by a female artist in Nielsen SoundScan’s tracking history, which began in 1991.

The frumpy church volunteer’s soaring voice was discovered in April when she stunned judges on the “Britain’s Got Talent” television show.

Irish boy band Westlife went straight in at number two with “Where We Are”, while British group Take That’s “The Greatest Day — The Circus Live” debuted at number three.

In the singles charts, charity record “The Official BBC Children in Need Medley” by comedian Peter Kay’s Animated All Stars stayed at number one.

Barbadian singer Rihanna’s song “Russian Roulette” climbed from number six to number two. Outlandish-dressing New York singer Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” rose two to number three.

Meanwhile festive favourites were on the rise, with Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl with “Fairytale of New York” both climbing more than 20 places to 29 and 31 respectively.

New Yorker Lada Gaga’s debut single, “Just Dance,” was number three in the official singles chart of 2009, just behind Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling.”

Boyle, the runner-up of the “Britain’s Got Talent” TV show, claimed top spot in the year’s album chart after “I Dreamed a Dream” sold more than 1.5 million copies in six weeks.

The 48-year-old Scottish singer was unknown before her appearance on the talent show last April and became an overnight Internet sensation.

Boyle edged Lady Gaga’s “The Fame” into second place in the list of the year’s best-selling albums ahead of Michael Buble’s “Crazy Love.”

In the latest week’s British singles chart, Lady Gaga’s single “Bad Romance” returned to the number one spot. She pushed X Factor winner Joe McElderry’s debut single “The Climb” down to number two. Black Eyed Peas moved up three places to third with “Meet Me Halfway.”

In the week’s albums chart, there was a return to the number one slot for Paolo Nutini’s “Sunny Side Up” which was first number one in June 2009. Lady Gaga’s “The Fame” occupied number two with Boyle’s album in third.
